Any Top Gear Fans?
Comment:
GT3 was a great game, and very realistic, I never played GT4 but it sounds like an amazing game, but
now we reach the fifth generation.
Recently anounced on the UK PS3 website sony told us
that Polyphony Digital are linking up with the BBC, here is the article.
"Sony Computer
Entertainment Inc. (SCEI) and Polyphony Digital, Inc., the creators of the best-selling racing
franchise, Gran Turismo, have announced a collaboration with BBC Worldwide that will allow BBC's Top
Gear programme to be downloaded through Gran Turismo TV (GT TV) on PLAYSTATION 3.
GT
TV, a dedicated online channel packed with the latest news and content from the motoring world, will
launch worldwide on PLAYSTATION Network in 2008. BBC Worldwide will provide 40 episodes of Top Gear,
the award-winning BBC television series about motoring for download.
In addition, the
Top Gear Test Track - the track featured each week on the show, where host Jeremy Clarkson and the
Top Gear team test the latest cars - will be replicated in Gran Turismo 5 on PS3. For the first time
in a racing game, players will be able to burn rubber and experience every white knuckle, hairpin
turn on the Top Gear Test Track for themselves.
"We at Polyphony are great fans of the
world's best motoring programme, Top Gear, so we're delighted to be collaborating with BBC Worldwide
to deliver Top Gear content via Gran Turismo," said Kazunori Yamauchi, President, Polyphony Digital,
"We're sure that players will be as thrilled as we are when they get the chance to put their own
driving skills to the test on the Top Gear Test Track in GT5, as well as enjoying classic episodes
of Top Gear via GT TV."
Simon Danker, Director, Digital Media, BBC Worldwide
commented, "BBC Top Gear is the world's number one motoring media brand and we're thrilled to make
it accessible to Gran Turismo gamers. We continue to explore different avenues to share our content
with an expanding audience, and are delighted to participate with Polyphony Digital in the launch of
this exciting new opportunity.""
With the ability to use the TG test track and watch
Top Gear will be good, the perfect asset to what will be the Greatest Driving Simulator ever.

with how GT3 and GT4 looked and played and with a Demo version of this game on the Playstation
Network this game looks almost real life.
And with the added news that 'Sony Computer
Entertainment Inc. and Polyphony Digital have teamed up with BBC Worldwide to bring 40 episodes of
BBC's Top Gear to the PlayStation 3's Gran Turismo TV (GT TV). It was also announced that the Top
Gear Test Track, where the Top Gear team tests new cars every week, will be one of the playable
tracks in the upcoming Gran Turismo 5 video game for the PS3.'
Lokks like this will be
the game to have for any car fan

Undoubtibly The Most Advanced Game Ever Made,,,,
Comment:
Reading many reviews over many websites the gran turismo series is a game that every PS3 owner must
have if you like racing/cars in any shape or form. This game with all due respect is going to blow
the life out of every other racing developers mind....the attention to terrian detail, the all new
interior design and functionality is only minor things to this game....this game is for the ultimate
driving adrenaline junkie...more toys than all the UK's kiddy baskets...over 10,000 ways to modify
each car to the exact "Millimetre" ita now moved up from the boring 6 car races to 16....this is
full blown racing in high definition!
PLEASE DONT BE LET DOWN BY GT HD (Downloadable on
PS3 Store) This is only designed to show early ideas and some scenery detail...and Very GT4 Detail
And Looks for the cars with tarted up rendering. Physics Of Cars Were On 1st Stages, Handling, Track
Condition and AI was not even available to endure a good race. This was just a smalllllll bite of
what was to come, 0.005% to be precise.
there is no other game that will visibly learn
you about cars in such textbook form, there is no other game that lets you race and feel the realism
is such realness (if the word exists) to those who will probably never get the feel of a 100,000
pound sports car in your control, so many cars, tracks, races, prizes, contests, online, in one
small disk! to be honest....this is not a game and in the words of playstation...."this is living!"
THIS IS GOING TO BE GAMERS HEAVEN!
All credit to SCEJ/A/E for such dedicated work, they
have surely conquered the power of the playstation 3 to the T. Hundreds of race plans for MORE
downloadable cars....and Modifications (NOT JUST SILLY BODYKIT SLAP ONS EITHER...but
performance!)
For the tech heads = GT4 has been running 4,000 polygons per car...GT5 is
running 200,000 polygons per car....almost 50x more detail and thats just the cars....this is the
ultimate graphical game. Make sure you have £50 spare for the release day!!! PS3 fans Support
SCEA!! Buy The Game And Keep The Brains Of Playstation Alive! No game works a processor like Gran
Turismo!!!

As real as a game can get
Comment:
You have to give it, it's a good game. I've done GT2,3,4 and HD so it's safe to say I can pretty
much guess where 5 is going. Few things in the series will seem unlikely to change, which I hate a
lot, first up is that they really made it feel like the car is on rail, nothing dynamic. Second, if
you are a fan of oversteering, you will know the drifting physics in this game is dreadful, you
either running on rail and understeer, or oversteer with the feeling of on roller skates. Not to
mention its dirt stages, which seems a bit like a joke, as they basically look and feel like tarmac
roads with sand or snow on it. Although the steering wheel itself is a corner stone of the industry,
but I'm not sure if it's a good idea having 900 degree turn on a wheel as small as that. Besides,
whether you understeer or oversteer in real life, your steering lighten, while in the game, heavier.
Finally, I hope they will make the AI a bit smarter in 5, honestly the AI in 2,3,4 are pretty much
the same and you can't really get more stupid than that. I also hope they get rid of that endurance
rubbish as well, I can hardly see the point of making yourself sitting in front of a TV racing
against stupid AI for 24 hours.
All and all, it tells you some of the driving
techniques which can be used in real life. But these aspects are very limited, it would be a fool
for anyone who think they can apply the game into real life in 100%. But after all, GT had
introduced me the concpet of driving techniques, I think it's fair to say it serves a good
introduction to people who want to know more about driving, but similator? Well, as real as a game
can get.
