It has been a fairly long time looking for this and felt to be quite a while before I received it after ordering. Probably no-ones fault and kind of added to the suspense of getting an item I've wanted for years.

Excellent but a bit of a liar!

I have played Final Fantasy 7 soooo many times but i have never managed to breed a golden chocobo. I have tried online tips etc but none ever seem to work. So i thought, why not buy the official guide, surely that can be of some assisstance. And it was.
This is an excellent walkthrough and guide to Final Fantasy 7. And its tips on Chocobo breeding really helped.
However i do want to warn you. This guide claims to be comprehensive exclaiming on the back "The ONLY guide with COMPLETE coverage of the American Game." This is a lie.
The guide is brilliant, don't get me wrong, and it offers loads of the tips and solutions that you may need. But it often misses things out. For example, the code to get the huge materia on the rocket, or the location of the hidden man north of Corel.
This is done intentionally though i assure you. The writer obviously is a fan and clearly wants you to explore the game to its fullest with his help, but not by him telling you everything.
You also have to bear in mind that this game is HUGE! and a full and complete guide to it, with every story detail and hidden treat, would be enormous.
So view this more as a very useful companion to your experience than a comprehensive walkthrough.

(And just as a final note, the statement on the back that this is "The ONLY guide with COMPLETE coverage of the American Game." is the only un-truth. It really will help you breed Chocobos, beat the Weapons and its lists on all items, materia, beasts, limits, weapons etc are extremely useful and complete)

"Final Fantasy VII" Official Guide: v. 1 (Brady Games Strategy Guides)
A reasonably priced guide for any Final Fantasy enthusiast. This was purchased for my 15 year old son who has spent hours studying the guide from cover to cover. If your children are keen on the Final Fantasy series, this guide is a "must".

It helps but...

I've played final fantasy VII about 3 or 4 times already and once again i decided to give it a go. Since this time a wanted to get my hands on everything the game has to give, i decided to buy this guide. It will give you a hand there's no doubt about it but it is extremely bad conceived. The lack of area maps and detailed information about almost everything is really dissapointing, especially for hardcore FF fans. The FFVII world is the only map on the book, and it's absolutely ridiculous. It looks like it was drawn and coloured by a six year old. Too bad Piggyback hasn't made a FFVII guide, those guides are literature.
