Photo Frame not recognised by my PC

This product worked great with an SD card but when it came to connecting it to my PC, it was a different story. Software installation took a long time (I am using XP - it was a bit faster on my son's Vista laptop). Then, it would not recognise my PC / my PC did not detect it when I plugged it in via the supplied USB lead. After trying all the usual solutions: rebooting my PC, re installing the software, unplugging and re-plugging in using different ports etc, I tried it on 2 laptops and got the same problem. I contacted Philips via chat and was told the unit is faulty. When I told my wife (who unpacked the frame when it arrived) she told me that it looked as though the frame had already been unwrapped / used as it had finger marks on it and the screen did not have any protective packaging around it. Maybe this has been returned before and then just repacked in the hope that the next buyer would either not have the problem or not need to connect it to a PC.

In summary, I'd say get this frame as the quailty is good but beware when unpacking and using it with a computer.

Good product with a room for improvement.

Its a nice product, does what it is meant to do. The picture clarity is very good, quality was never an issue with PHILIPS. Very useful settings and intelligent and simple product software to use. The only I think it lacks is some inbuilt battery due to which it needs full time power 24x7...not sure how justified it sounds, but I really wish :)
