Good family radios

Was pleasantly surprised by these radios. Bought them for my 3 year olds Christmas,as she loves mobile phones, and she mastered how to use them very quickly! You have the ability to lock the frequency onto the same channel to prevent young ones from accidentally changing channel. Reception is good indoors and in built up areas, although haven't tested the reputed 7km range in the country yet!! You can also leave one of the radios channel open, so that it can be used just like a baby monitor which some parents may find useful. They are very compact, and fit easily into the smallest of hands. Overall, a good set of radios that all the family can enjoy, with easy to use controls, and clear reception.

Functional and easy to use for children

Our daughters have been able to use these units fairly easily (OK, the 3-year-old has some trouble finding the talk button sometimes, but what do you expect?)
More important, the product has good signal, adequate range, and seems reasonably robust. Battery life not that long, but with rechargeables it is good enough. Being PMR should work with other varieties, and allows some tuning to other channels if need be. Settings lock is a useful feature keeping it simple and relatively safe for children.
