A 5V USB Charger
Customer Rating:

I bought this to charge my Sony MP3 player, which it does in about 2 hours.
The picture shows it upside down - in the UK most 13A sockets have the single earth pin at the top, which means that when you plug it in the writing is upside down and the bulk of the device sticks upwards from the socket.
When plugged in to the mains, a USB socket is accessible from the 'top' of the charger, and you plug the thing you want to charge in there using its usb lead.
There are no leads supplied and there are no indicator lights. You have to rely on any 'state of charge' indicators that your MP3 player etc has.
This device is basic but effective, and is rated at 5V 500 mA.
Sony 5volt 5-Star Charger

I have tried several "cheapo" chargers for re-charging my Sony Walkman, even using the USB facilty from my laptop to no avail.
None of them would fully charge the Walkman.
At least two of the cheaper ones could not put a charge in without getting dangerously hot and threatening to fry themselves.
This charger was plugged in and within 30minutes the Walkman was fully charged without the slightest hint of heat build up from the charger internal transformer. Excellent product and it also works very well on other MP3 and iPod style units that need 5Volt charges.
